2010 Annual Meeting

Concordia University, Montreal, 29-30 May 2010

CAANS/ACAEN’s annual meeting will be held at Concordia University in Montreal on 29-30 May 2010, to coincide with the Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities.
Concordia has adopted the Congress theme “Connected Understanding / Le savoir branché”.

From Concordia’s Congress guide: “Connected Understanding speaks to scholarly activity and the impact of the rise of digital technology on scholarly research and research-creation; the links that scholars make with their colleagues in other fields and with larger audiences beyond the academic world.”

This year's keynote speaker will be Rudi Wester (1943). During her long career she was, amongst other things, a high school French teacher, a literary critic for Trouw and Vrij Nederland, editor of the literary program Hier is... Adriaan van Dis, director of the Nederlands Literair Productie- en Vertalingenfonds, director of the Institut Néerlandais in Paris, and cultural advisor for the Dutch Embassy in Paris. She wrote and edited more than twenty books.

The call for papers is posted below (in English, Dutch and French). Deadline for submissions is March 1, 2010.
